ALT shortlisted for Staff Development award

We're delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for the Staff Development Award (13+ schools) at the year's MAT Excellence Awards.

The MAT Excellence Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements and impact that academy trusts have across the UK.

The judges were impressed with ALT’s entry, saying that the trust “puts staff development at the heart of its culture”.

ALT is praised for offering a wider range of opportunities for staff to develop their skills and progress their careers, including:

  • clear career pathways
  • leadership programmes
  • apprenticeships
  • routes to teacher training.

The trust’s innovative approach to appraisals, opportunities for coaching, personality exploration and regular staff surveys mean that every staff member, at every level, is empowered to develop and thrive.

Members of the trust will attend an awards ceremony in London in June, when the winner will be announced.

ALT is a growing trust and recently expanded into Norfolk, after the Loddon Primary Federation joined the trust in November last year.

“We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award which reflects our commitment to developing and investing in our people so that they can reach their full potential.

In our trust, staff development is not an add-on or a nice-to-have, it’s at the core of all that we do and we pride ourselves on being serious about creating a culture where every member of staff can develop.

Being shortlisted for this award reflects the positive impact of our holistic approach to staff development, as well as the dedication and professionalism of the leaders, teachers and support staff across all our schools.”
