On Tuesday 10th July, students from Burrowmoor, Westwood and Cavalry Primary Schools from March, together with Townley Primary School from Wisbech, visited Neale-Wade Academy  to enjoy a day of music creation on.  Neale-Wade Academy students worked in leadership roles, helping the younger students learn the music.

As a massed group with the choir, the theme from ‘The Flinstones’ and the pop song ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ were performed.  The group then split into smaller ensembles: woodwind, brass and strings.  These groups each prepared a piece each for the later concerts;  ‘Let Me Entertain You’ from the brass, ‘The Great Escape’ from the woodwind, and the strings rehearsed ‘Shark Attack!’.  The choir took this opportunity to learn their group piece, ‘The BBQ Blues’.

In the afternoon, a concert was performed to a group of year 7 students and then at 3:45pm, the parents were invited to listen to the music the students had spent the day creating.  Burrowmoor and Cavalry shared with the pieces they had prepared;  ‘Sing a Song in Unison’ from the Burrowmoor Choir, and ‘Skyfall’ from the Cavalry Band.

The schools are all looking forward to next year already!
