Students at Cromwell Community College are celebrating today after receiving their long-awaited GCSE results.

The school, which is part of the Active Learning Trust, has achieved strong results in English where over 73 per cent of students achieved Level 4 and above; with similar results being achieved across maths as well.

Cromwell Community College is celebrating a significant improvement in its science GCSEs. This year, a record number of students gained at least two science GCSEs at Levels 4 and above. Other subjects have also seen substantial success as over 20 per cent of students studying technology proudly accomplished a Level 7 and above.

Jane Horn, Principal at Cromwell Community College, said: “As always, we are very proud of our students’ achievements. Their hard work and commitment has been outstanding. I am really pleased to see that our curriculum remains broad and balanced, allowing our pupils to opt for subjects they enjoy. It is important that we allow all pupils to fulfil their potential and perform to their best. We are pushing forward with our STEM agenda which has been demonstrated very successfully with such good results in these areas.

“Many of our students will be returning to Cromwell for Sixth Form and others will be moving on to apprenticeships and College courses. We wish everyone the best of luck for their futures.”

Gary Peile, Chief Executive of The Active Learning Trust, added “I am delighted that the students at Cromwell have produced such an excellent set of results. Given the change in the exams and the additional rigour, this is a very good set of results. I join Jane in celebrating the broad and balanced curriculum offer at the school and also want to thank Jane and her whole team at Cromwell for their tremendous support to the whole student body.”
