Cromwell pupil wins national design competition

Pupils from the Primary Phase at Cromwell Community College were delighted to receive free T-shirts, after one of their classmates won a national design competition.

Lily, who is in Year 5, entered the competition with a design that features various sea creatures and the words: “We are all different but at this school, we all swim together”.

She took her inspiration from a board in the Primary Phase at Cromwell that features fish the children have designed - each unique and different, but all with the same common goal of swimming in the same direction.

Lily’s winning entry saw everyone in her class, including the teachers, receive a free T-shirt featuring her design.

The national competition - called “Under the Sea” - was run by the school’s catering company, Edwards and Blake and invited primary children to come up with a marine design.

Edwards and Blake is a contract catering company which provides over 160 schools and businesses across the UK with freshly cooked and locally sourced food.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed designing marine themed pictures for this competition and we were very proud of all the entries from Cromwell.

Special congratulations to Lily in Year 5, whose design won the competition - everyone at Cromwell Community College is very impressed by her artistic talent!

We would like to thank Edwards and Blake for running this competition, which inspired our pupils, and for gifting our T-shirts with Lily’s design printed on them."
