Sidegate team wins Premier League primary stars tournament
Sidegate Primary School in Ipswich is celebrating after their girls’ football team won the Premier League primary stars regional tournament last week.
The girls from Sidegate Primary were representing Ipswich Town Football Club at the tournament, which was held in Colchester.
The Sidegate girls gave an outstanding performance demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination and skill.
The team were delighted to be crowned tournament winners and secured their place in the Premier League primary stars national finals later this year.
“We are incredibly proud of our girls for this fantastic performance, and I would like to thank Mr Barwick for all his dedication in coaching the team.
Mr Barwick and the team trained very hard and to progress to the National Finals is a tremendous achievement.
At Sidegate Primary, we believe that sport has the power to build confidence, resilience and character, and opportunities like this allow our pupils to challenge themselves, while representing our school with pride.
Our whole school community is behind the team, and we wish them every success as they go on to represent Ipswich in the nationals later this year.”
