Reydon Primary School's new nursery praised by minister

Reydon Primary School has received a letter from the Minister for Early Education praising staff for the opening of a nursery on its school site.

Reydon Nursery was officially opened by local MP, Jenny Riddell-Carpenter, in February, offering local families much-needed childcare and pre-school places.

Now the school has received a letter from Olivia Bailey MP, the Minister for Early Education and Minister for Equalities, thanking staff for the successful set-up of the school-based nursery project.

Ms Bailey said: “I have seen first-hand the care, creativity and commitment that has gone into transforming surplus space into vibrant early years provision. It is clear that these new settings are already making a meaningful difference to children, families and the wider school community.

“I know that delivering new provision within a busy school environment is not without its challenges, and I want to thank you and your team for your continued engagement and dedication throughout the process. I wish you every success as your nursery continues to thrive, offering a nurturing and enriching environment that gives children the best possible start in life.”

Reydon Nursery is housed in a completely refurbished building, complete with new facilities and equipment. Sessions are led by a qualified teacher and the large space provides different zones for children to take part in water play, painting, messy play and reading.

“We were very proud to receive this letter from Olivia Bailey and very much appreciate her kind words. We know that Reydon Primary School staff have worked hard to ensure the smooth opening of this new nursery facility and this recognition from the minister is well deserved.

The staff at Reydon have very much enjoyed welcoming a new cohort of young children this year and look forward to giving them the solid foundations and building blocks they need to develop and thrive.

The Active Learning Trust works hard to make sure that the children in our ‘family’ of schools and nurseries feel safe and nurtured and we hope that all the new families at Reydon Nursery feel valued and well supported.”
