Local business supports new pond project at Highfield Ely

Pupils at Highfield Ely have had great fun filling a new pond in the school grounds with new life, courtesy of a local business.

Following a kind donation from Ely Aquatics and Reptiles, the pupils have enjoyed putting plants, gravel and water snails into the pond.

Highfield hopes the pond will become a thriving habitat for wildlife and offer pupils hands-on learning opportunities about nature.

“We are delighted with our new pond, which will become a welcoming home for local wildlife.

“We hope that our new pond area will give pupils the opportunity to observe ecosystems in action and a chance to learn directly from nature.

“We would like to thank Ely Aquatics & Reptiles for the plants, gravel and snails and very much appreciate their generosity and kindness towards our school community.”
