Westwood Primary School Unveils Poppy Display
Pupils and staff at Westwood Primary School in Lowestoft were honoured to make poppies for a special display outside their school.
Last week, the whole school came together in the school hall to reflect on why it is important to commemorate Remembrance.
Every child and adult at Westwood was then invited to create their own poppy. These poppies have been added to a display at the front of the school, which is visible from the road.
On 11th November, in another whole school assembly, Westwood recognised those pupils who took part in parades on Remembrance Sunday and marked the two-minute silence.
“Remembrance Day is an important time for our school community to pause, reflect and honour those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Our pupils worked with great care to create these Remembrance poppies as a symbol of respect and gratitude for those who served and to remember the sacrifices that have shaped the freedoms we enjoy today.”
