Attendees: Aspiring Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
Frequency: 3 sessions per year (including 18/03/26, 06/05/26)
Host: Shirley Young, Head of Safeguarding
These three sessions are for any staff curious about a career pathway into Safeguarding and interested in becoming a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL (DDSL). You don’t need to have completed Advanced Safeguarding Training beforehand - some course content will cover elements of that training, so this is a great way to explore the role and its responsibilities.
The programme blends practical insight with real-world examples and includes the option of a short placement with a safeguarding team in Summer Term 2. Please note that attendees on placement will not be given access to confidential pupil records.
This course is intended as a safe, supportive way to dip your toe into Safeguarding so you can decide if it’s the right next step for you.
Attendees: Senior Leaders, Middle Leaders
Host: Insights Facilitators
This engaging and interactive session offers an introduction to the insights Discovery model, designed to help staff gain a deeper understanding of their personal working style and how it influences their interactions and effectiveness at work. Through the exploration of an individual Insights Discovery profile, staff will uncover key strengths, potential blind spots and preferred ways of communicating and collaborating. The session also highlights the importance of recognising and valuing the unique styles of others.
Attendees: SENDCos
Host: Simon Bainbridge, Head of SENDV
These CPD sessions are designed to support the ongoing professional development of SENDCos across our schools. Each session provides opportunities to explore current priorities, share effective practice and engage with relevant developments in the field of SENDV.
Attendees: School Leaders, Central Team Heads of Service
Frequency: Every half term
Host: Lynsey Holzer, CEO
These whole-day meetings serve to summarise progress and to outline specific project outputs. They're also a valuable opportunity to celebrate good practice and to network with colleagues from across our Trust.
